Review – Karcher SC 1 Steam Stick – Dry Steam Cleaner

30th April 2015 By Susan Mann 3 Comments

We are big Karcher fans here and have reviewed many Karcher products including the Steam Cleaner , Power Washer, Window Vac, Vacuum and Floor Polisher. We have loved each and every one of them. This time we have been trying out the SC1 Steam Stick. This is the perfect piece of cleaning equipment for quick steam cleaning, without the use of any chemicals. It is a handheld device which works as a 2 in 1 allowing for steam mop floor cleaning and the classic nozzle. Perfect for scooting around the floors and also can used on the hob, extractor hood, etc.

Karcher Steam Stick

I have to say I am loving the ease of this when cleaning my floors. Downstairs I have both laminate flooring and tiled flooring and it works without any effort on both. Leaving them hygienically clean without using anything other than water. It is simple and quick to setup and then you are off. It is perfect for floors, bathroom tiles, which was easy to do and I tried it on carpet stains. It got those out too. This really is an all round piece of equipment. I was considering a commercial cleaning company, but this got the job done.

Karcher Steam Stick SC1The Steam Stick had a childproof safety lock, just in case, which is great when you have an inquisitive toddler about. Included in the box is the detail nozzle, hand tool, power nozzle, extension hose, accessory bag for storage, round brush and two terry cloths, one for the floor piece and one for the hand held piece.

Before Laminate

My before picture of my laminate in my living room.

After Laminate

The picture of the laminate after cleaning. You can see it’s not hugely different as my floors weren’t filthy, but the sheen you get is a mat finish and there is no chemical smell.

Is the Karcher Steam Stick any different to the Steam Cleaner? Not really, but it’s lighter, compact and a lot more fun to use due to this. Taking up less space for storage and is cheaper with an RRP of £99.99. All plus points in my book. I do love the way the steam cleaners work with the steam killing the majority of the germs rather than purchasing a product, saving money and not using any harsh chemicals.

Karcher Steam Stick in use

As with all the Karcher products we have used, this one really does make cleaning that bit less of a chore and a bit more fun. This is one of my favourites from all the products we have tested, it’s been used the most, although I do love the Window Vacuum too. But for an all round, excellent piece of kit to help clean the floors and other surfaces, this is perfect. Which are your favourite Karcher products?

Disclaimer:- As a Karcher Ambassador I was sent this product through to review, but it has not affected my opinion in any way.
