Review & Giveaway Stargazer Lottie Doll

21st April 2015 By Susan Mann 168 Comments

Stargazer Lottie

We are HUGE fans of Lottie Dolls in our house. Our collection has grown vastly and we have been more enthused with every one. Last month saw the release of Stargazer Lottie. She is one of my favourite Lottie’s, having always been interested in Astronomy, getting a telescope for my 21st birthday and being elated at capturing the solar eclipse last month. Stargazer Lottie is something different, she’s not your average doll and she was even the recipient of the esteemed Little Scientist Award from Space.com. I am also lucky enough to be giving one of these amazing dolls away, see the bottom of the post.

Stargazer Lottie Items

Like all Lottie Dolls, Stargazer Lottie has no make-up, no high heels and a child body shape at a cute 18cm tall. Children should play with child like doll. Creating lots of fun, imaginative and role playing enjoyment. With her telescope Stargazer Lottie can look through it to find the stars and planets of the night sky and perhaps if she is lucky see a shooting star, making a wish, that might come true.

Looking for the stars

Aria loves Lottie dolls, or my lettie dolls as she calls them. You see I have my own collection, which I am saving for her as she get a little older. Lottie is for ages 3 and above. Aria is only 2, but she is very gentle and not one for putting things in her mouth so she is fine with them. She loves their hair, the fact it is so soft and brush able. There is none of the tangled mess you get with other dolls. What I also love about Lottie is that the box can be used as it’s own carry-case. Everything fits back in for ease of storage or for taking on trips or for Grandparents.

Playing with Lottie

Stargazer Lottie wears a lovely dark blue velvet bomber jacket, a long sleeved t-shirt, cerise-coloured dungarees, a spotted scarf, a brown hat and brown boots, which are easily removable and as simple to put back on. Lottie also comes with her own telescope and tripod. This is fantastic and a lot of fun to play with. It’s simple to built and pose. Also in the box is a great collection of solar system cards and a sheet with fascinating facts about notable women in Astronomy.

Telescope

I find the story of how Stargazer Lottie came about quite fascinating. A 5 year old girl, Abigail, sent in her ideas to Arklu. These ideas inspired them to design Stargazer Lottie.

We love the new Stargazer Lottie doll, not only is it fun to play with, but it helps children, especially girls learn about Astronomy. She is a real inspiration. I would highly recommend it for all children and it makes a great gift at an RRP £19.99 available from Lottie or Amazon. Toddler Lottie Doll If you would like to find out more about other Lottie dolls check out our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. You can also see my reviews on Super Lottie, Kite Flyer Finn and Lottie Dolls. I am a huge fan, I love what they stand for and Lottie dolls really stand on their own two feet, both metaphorically and literally. Looking for planets If you want to win your very own Stargazer Lottie fill in the Rafflecopter form below. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Disclaimer:- I was given a Stargazer Lottie for the purpose of this review, but all opinions are my own. I love Lottie dolls and what they stand for. I have not been reimbursed or compensated in running this competition.

I’d never heard of Lottie Dolls before but these are fantastic! Just the kind of dolls I’d have wanted when I was tiny and the kind I want for my daughter now. We tend to stay away from the pink aisles in the toy shops. My daughter’s favourite would be the Muddy Puddles Lottie (puddle jumping is her thing!) but I have to say I love the Stargazer. I did a few short courses in astrophysics when I was a student and my 6yo son has a small telescope that my daughter likes to look through too. I think this will go on the list of 3rd birthday present possibilities. 🙂

I love Rockabilly Lottie but I would also have to get her the superhero costume and the pet cat! I adore the entire Lottie collection and have promised my four year old a Lottie doll for Christmas but she first has to prove to me that she can take better care of the dolls she already has, who have been looking a little bedraggled lately. I strongly believe in teaching children to respect their possessions from a young age.
