Girls – The Gallery 224

1st April 2015 By Susan Mann 8 Comments

This week’s The Gallery prompt is Girls. Now I never thought I’d have a girl after having two boys, I automatically expected my third baby to be a little boy. I always wanted a girl as I never knew what it was like to a mother to a boy, sounds weird, but as an only child, girls was all I knew. So by the time I had my third, again due to being an only child, I only knew what it was like to being a mum to boys. On the 22nd of January 2013 I gave birth to a wonderful baby girl. Wow, did  I not know what I was letting myself in for.

Princess Castle

Aria is a wonderful little girl, she’s sweet, kind, but feisty. Due to the red hair maybe. She is a lot more independent than the boys and wants to wear what she wants, do what she wants and pretty much anything she wants. Not forgetting amazing, inspiring and incredible. I cannot wait to see this marvellous little person grow into an astounding girl. Girls rock!

I’d love to know what you think about having girls? Are they different to your experience with having boys?

I know what you mean! After two boys, I never expected a girl either, but my girl is amazing, just like yours! She is different from my boys, but they are different from each other, so I think a lot of it is down to different personalities and not just the different gender. x

Everything you write here is my experience too, after all the boys a little girl was quite a different experience, but wonderful.

A friend visited yesterday who is 35 weeks pregnant – and she already has two boys. People keep saying to her 'so, you must be hoping it's a girl?' – but she admitted the same – that she's not sure how she'll cope with a girl (and a girl's bits for nappy changing) after 2 sons!!
Your girl does look very cute – and feisty!! x

You know, I was terrified of having a daughter? All of that pink stuff that means nothing to me, fashion, makeup, I was very afraid I would let her down. And somehow I have this amazing, strong, independent teen, who sorts all of that stuff out for herself, and for her little sister, as well as being awesome alongside 🙂

Looking at friends who have boys and girls, the girls definitely seem to grow up quicker. They also seem to love pink whether you want them to or not x

Your experience sounds so similar to mine and I have only three girls! I haven’t any sons so can’t compare but life certainly isn’t dull!
