My children are very active. They love doing sport, especially football. My oldest Lucas would kick a ball about from morning to night, not ideal in a living room, but if he got away with it he would. However, they can get distracted with modern day technology like tablets. It’s important to me to get them outdoors and even do something indoors if the weather is too bad.
It can be hard over the Winter months, we are not hugely outdoors people, but we try to be. In the snow we had lots of fun and got active together. What activities do you do as a family?
Even at school they got so many different activities with both boys experiencing after school sports activities where they can try out different sports from Fencing to Dancing. But, schools don’t always have the money they would like to spend on sports equipment. I know with our school being a new build, they would like to buy some more outdoor equipment for their new playground. Thankfully Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2015 campaign launched on the 28 of January, allowing parents, carers and the general public to collect vouchers for their chosen school or nursery or Scout, Guides or even sports organisations. Sainsbury’s campaign aims to help children achieve a healthier, more active life style and since it began in 2005 has provided a whopping £150 million of equipment and experiences to children. How amazing is that?
The Active Kids campaign is backed by three inspirational ambassadors, footballer, Daniel Sturridge, swimmer, Ellie Simmonds and sprinter, Jonnie Peacock. And as part of the Paralympic legacy, Sainsbury’s Active Kids will benefit 500,000 disabled children by 2016.
Why not support the campaign and every time you shop at Sainsbury’s between now and the 5th of May you will receive an Active Kids voucher for every £10 you spend on shopping, or every £5 you spend at Sainsbury’s Local.
Being healthy isn’t just about sports and getting active, it’s also about eating healthier and organisations can use their vouchers in exchange for a range of active and cooking equipment to help equip children with the ability to cook healthier, changing their lifestyles. Vouchers can be collected until the 5th of May but redeemed all year.
The celebrate the launch of Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2015, one of my lucky readers will win £200 worth of Sainsbury’s vouchers and some signed merchandise.

I love that Sainsburys support schools, and sports. My son is desperate to be involved in the sainsburys school games but I don't think he is old enough yet!
