Indoor Adventures: Having Fun Indoors

23rd December 2014 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

Sunday was the shortest day of the year, with the nights being dark and long it’s sometimes hard to keep the children entertained. My boys love to go outside and play football, so when they are stuck in the house it’s hard to not have them play ball in the house. House of Fraser set me a challenge to keep the children entertained. This is what I came up for having fun indoors.
I think role playing and imaginative play is great for all children, so I thought this would be a good thing for my little girl Aria. She’s a big Doc McStuffin fan so I got her the Doc McStuffins Playscape. This means she can be Doc McStuffin’s and fix up her toys.
Doc McStuffin Playscape

This kept Aria occupied for hours. The playset is excellent it’s got a table for the toys to be sorted on, a pretend cabinet for placing the pretend tools and a great background and floor. The boys loved it too and felt like they were in one of the many episodes of Doc McStuffin we have watched. It was fascinating to watch the three of them re-create the episodes with their toys and have fun making up some illnesses on their toys. The playscape looks fantastic, is built in a few minutes and folds back down into it’s own bag for easy storage. It is quite big to keep it up all the time, but it doesn’t take long. There are little plastic tubes to make the bed and cabinet, which fit together and come apart easily.

This definitely keeps the children occupied and having lots of fun on the dark cold nights. There are loads of these pop up playscapes to chose from. Lots of imaginative play to go around. And no more boredom.
The boys love to play games, so I thought I’d get them a children’s card games set and Beats BopIt. We love to play games together as a family and in the dark evenings it makes it perfect to have some family together and have a laugh, making memories for years to come.
Classic Card Games for Kids
We had a card night last week and it was great fun. There were so many games to chose from in the Classic Card Games For Kids, there are over 20 in fact all child friendly. Some they can play on their own like Alphabet Solitaire and some they can play together like snap and some are much more fun played with all the family like Happy Families. The set itself consists of 3 packs of cards, a pack of playing cards, a pack of Alphabet cards and a Happy Families pack. There is a book explaining how to play all the different games like Crazy eights, Go Fish and many more. This set will keep the children and us adults occupied and having fun indoors for days. We loved this and will definitely make family card night a regular thing.

Hasbro Bop It! Beats Game is a new type of Bop It! style game, which is just like the classic game, but with a funky twist. It’s aimed at the slighter older child of 8 plus so I played this with Lucas. He’s not quite grasped it yet, but it’s one that’s going to come out year after year on family game nights. It had us in stitches. There are fives game modes to chose from and the music keeps you going and singing along. This is a lot of fun.
Bop It! Beats
Not wishing our lives away for the Summer months. We are embracing the dark months and having fun together on our indoor adventures from pretending to be a toy doctors to learning new games. What are your favourite things to do on an evening in with the children? What indoor adventures do you have?

Disclaimer:- I was given some credit to buy some items for some indoor adventures. But all opinions, words and choices are my own.
