Review And Giveaway Of the Awesome Lottie Dolls

14th September 2014 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

Lottie Dolls
My favourite toy when I was a little girl was my Sindy dolls. I loved them and I had the house, I played with them for hours. What I liked about Sindy was she was down to earth, she looked like she’d be a nice person if you met her in real life. I hated Barbie, she looked too skinny and nasty. Well, that’s what I told my mum anyway. When I had a girl of my own and even the boys, I wanted a doll that was down to earth, realistic, would be a good person to talk too and who’d be a good role model. Then I met her. Her name was Lottie Doll.

I first came across Lottie last year and I knew I had to get some of the dolls for Aria. She might be a little small just now, but they sit in her room and remind her she can be anything she wants to be. She does play with them, under supervision, but she loves them. When I first got them the boys loved them too. They still do. Tyler loves Robot Lottie and Lucas does too as she has glasses like him. He can relate to her and didn’t find them girly. That’s what I like about Lottie dolls, they aren’t girly, girly, but they can be. They are aimed at both boys and girls and I love this.

Reading Robot Lottie
I already have Robot Lottie, Pirate Lottie, Snow Queen Lottie and a various accessory kits, including the awesome football one. Every girls got to accessorise you know. As you can see I may have grown a slight obsession to these dolls, but I love them and I love what they stand for. It’s definitely the role model I want my children to grow up with, BE BOLD, BE BRAVE, BE YOU. Who wouldn’t want their children growing up with that motto?
This time I am reviewing Spring Celebration Lottie. I love her, as I am getting back into dance myself, tap dance to be exact and I wanted Aria to have her own little dancer. And here she is. Perfect isn’t she?
Spring Celebration Lottie
One of the great things about Lottie doll is the boxes they come in, they can be opened easily and kept. The boxes themselves make perfect little carry-cases. As you can see this appealed to Aria. She loved her from the minute she was taken out the box and hasn’t let her go since.

There have been lots of hugs and kisses for Lottie. All of the Lottie Doll’s hair is so soft and doesn’t tangle or stretch like most other dolls hair I’ve come across. Also their shoes are designed to be easily put on and off, perfect for little hands. Pirate Lottie’s boots split so they can be slid off and on easily and Spring Celebration Lottie has the cutest little ballet shoes which are simple, even Aria has them off an on. Their clothes are the same. Simple, well made, with Velcro for easy opening. They don’t have lots of little fiddly bits and pieces. They are perfect for a child to do on their own.

Lottie celebrated her two year anniversary last month, having made her appearance in 2012 as the first ever ‘pro-girl’ doll.

Lottie has been designed for girls aged 3 – 9 and her imaged and body size has been based on a 9 year old girl. I love the fact that she is small, but not too small that she can’t be played with. She’s a realistic size and is a child doll, like it should be. She is the only 18cm doll on the market. The range of Lottie dolls is expanding all the time, but a few of their current ones are Pony Flag Race, Spring Celebration Ballet, English Country Garden, Branksea Festival, Autumn Leaves, Snow Queen, Robot Girl, whom is one of my personal favourites, Pirate Queen, Lighthouse Keeper, Kawaii Karate, Butterfly Protector and Pandora’s Box. There are more coming out later on this year. Each doll tells it’s own story and has it’s own history which makes it all the more fun and great for the older children to find out a little more about their dolls and the history behind them. There are also a huge range of accessories including Biscuit the Beagle dog, a gorgeous pony called Seren and Pandora the cat, to name a few.

I love the fact there are no high heels, makeup or scantily clad dolls in their range. These are based on children for children and she can stand on her own two feet, literally. As you can see Aria love playing with the doll and is obsessed with dressing, undressing and brushing her hair just now. She walks her about the room and loves to carry her in the box. She is still a little on the young side, but as time goes on she’ll use her more and more for role playing and friends.
Robot Lottie
To date, Lottie has won 15 awards in the US, UK and Canada including three prestigious Oppenheim Portfolio Platinum Awards. Lottie now sells in 30 countries worldwide; the www.lottie.com website appears in 17 language versions, including Chinese, Russian and Japanese. Lottie dolls retail at £16.99; accessory sets at £7.99
I could gush about Lottie all day, as it’s a product I love and one that I respect what they stand for. For now all I can tell you is they are awesome, perfect role models for your children, well made and are simply the best dolls on the planet. That’s what I think about them, I’d love to know what you think about them?
