Review – BOOMco Rapid Madness Blaster

7th August 2014 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

For the last few days my oldest boy Lucas and I have been having some Summer fun with the BOOMco Rapid Madness Blaster. They haven’t had any blasters or water guns before now, but I thought with them getting older it’s something they’d enjoy. And I wasn’t wrong. This totally rocks!
BOOMco Rapid Madness Blaster
You have to watch the video below. This has to be one of my favourite product video’s of all time and I so wish I’d been able to take part in it. I now want to take the BOOMco Rapid Madness to some kind of lazer quest/paintballing type thing but with blasters. The BOOMco Rapid Madness would kick some serious butt. What do you think?
I bet you want one now don’t you? And are dancing along to the catchy tune? It really is rapid fire. The only downside I’ve found is you need more bullets than it comes with to have a lot of fun, although it comes with more than enough, but you know what it’s like they’ll get lost, etc. I’m going to pick up more at the weekend, they are not overly expensive and I think they will be used. The Blaster itself has an RRP of £49.99. Which yes it on the expensive side, but this thing will bring hours of fun and is built to last.
One of the best things about the BOOMco Rapid Madness Blaster is that it features a Smart Stick system. This works by the type of darts used. The tip of the dart sticks to all Smart Stick and the very cool baster shields on the picture below. These are great when playing against each other as these shields catch the dart sticks. Stopping the appointment hitting your own target.
Blaster Shields
The stickiness of the darts hasn’t worn off and they are as sticky as when we first took them out. The blaster has two methods of firing darts, one if a single-shot for accuracy when aiming it at a target or rapid mode firing 20 darts in seconds. The darts can fly for up to an impressive 50 feet. The 20 dart clip that comes included with the blaster is designed not to jam and I was a bit skeptical, but it hasn’t. Its rapid and sleek.
The fact that you don’t need batteries with the blaster, oh have I not mentioned that awesome piece of news yet, yes it uses compressed air. Every parents dream. No opening the toy on Christmas morning and not having the batteries requires. In the box you get 30 Smart Stick Darts, the 20 Dart Clip, a Smart Stick target and of course the Rapid Madness Blaster. The darts are soft and shouldn’t do too much damage if used indoors, but they go far and have quite a bit of power behind them so I’d recommend outdoors use for the majority of time.
Even though the Blaster is aimed at 7-11 year olds, I think that depending on the child it would be suitable for slightly younger and definitely older. My youngest is adding the blaster to the top of his Christmas list already. I think that my husband my be adding it to his too. This is a lot of fun and one that can be had with all the family, let’s get everyone involved. I really loved this, more than I thought I would. Little love bullets and lots of fun to be had. And no batteries required, it’s air powered!
The Rapid Madness Blaster can be purchased at Amazon, ToysRUs and Smyth Toys.
The BOOMco website is also excellent with videos including athlete’s etc and a lot of fun goings on. So is their You Tube Site and Instagram site is full of fab pictures, do check them out.
