Date Night

11th March 2014 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

Before we had kids Robert and I used to go out a lot clubbing with friends, the cinema, dinner, etc. Sometimes we’d just got for a drive and sit and have some chips over looking the loch or where ever the drive would take us. It’s was, nothing fancy just the two of us enjoying each others company. Chatting about work or anything else that came up in conversation. Having children enriches your life, but it does make me time and couple time a little less frequent. We always try to make time for each other and always have our Saturday night together. Even if that means watching TV or a film with a take away and maybe a glass of wine. No phones, no distractions just quality husband and wife time.
However, sometimes you just need to get dressed up and go out. I blogged about some relationship tips before Christmas and Head and Shoulders gave us the opportunity to go out and put them to the test. I booked tickets to go and see Russell Brand and have dinner together before. Chatting, food and laughing, what more could you want on a date?

Fate had other plans and Russell Brand got cancelled, I was all dressed up and no where to go. We decided we’d still head out for dinner and chose somewhere a little different. We live about 30 hour away from Glasgow city centre so headed in there. Coming from a town, city live at night is always more exciting.

Glasgow at Night

Robert is a big meat fan, I’m no vegetarian but not a big fan of plain meat. We decided on Viva Brazil in Glasgow. Viva Brazil offers fifteen different select cuts of beef, lamb, pork, chicken and sausages which are all brought and carved at your table. It’s a lot of fun as there is a disk you turn over when you want meat and it magically appears and when you need a rest turn it over and it stops. It definitely gave us a lot to talk about. It was a lovely restaurant and as much as it wouldn’t be my choice of meal it was lovely to try something different. The salad bar was excellent also. However, I’m a big dessert person, you’d never have guessed with my not so teeny waist line! I had an Amaretto ice-cream drink and it was delicious.

Feeling pretty, nice surroundings, good food, good drink and good company definitely equalled a good date night. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to chat without worrying if the children were awake, crying, etc. Just my hubby and I, remembering why we fell in love in the first place. Do you still go on date nights?
Disclaimer:- I was given some money by Head and Shoulders to go out on a date night, that was lovely of them I thought.
