Before the arrival of your little one, a babymoon is a must-do. Follow in Kate and Will’s footsteps and book a self indulgent, romantic couples holiday to celebrate the imminent patter of teeny feet, but also to enjoy the last few weeks of being a couple.
Just as the honeymoon gives newlyweds a chance to spend time together as a couple after the stress and busyness of a wedding, a babymoon gives parents-to-be a last chance to enjoy a romantic holiday together before two become three (or more) and sleepless nights and responsibilities of parenthood begin to take over. Babymoons overseas can be tricky. Some airlines aren’t happy for expectant mothers to fly during their last trimester, plus who wants to cross timezones, sit in those tiny aeroplane seats breathing in the recycled air just to arrive somewhere far too hot and sweaty far, far away from your family and your trusted health visitor? So stay close to home and book a romantic cottage in the UK, with luxurious extras like hot tubs, saunas, and swimming pools, and set in some of the country’s most beautiful destinations, you don’t need to jetset to Mustique D&D of Cambridge style or Paris like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, your perfect babymoon is closer than you think.
Choose your babymoon destination carefully, you need somewhere peaceful where you can rest, relax, and reconnect with your partner. Somewhere comfortable; think sofas that you sink into and cosy living rooms where logs crackle on the fire, and where the bedroom is dominated by a sumptuous four poster- eat your heart out Kim and Kanye! Finally, you should choose somewhere luxurious. Remember, it’s your last taste of spontaneous romance before the big changes that parenthood brings so make sure it’s one to remember forever.
