Baby Girl Diaries – Weeks 13-18

5th July 2013 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

Baby Girl
I am a bit behind in these considering she is over 22 weeks now, but I’ll do an update again soon. Aria is coming on leaps and bounds, she is very alert and sleeping pretty much all night. I am up a couple of times, then look in her cot and get a huge big smile. I haven’t had to feed her during the night since she’s been 5 week so I really can’t complain. I’m sure that may change any day now, especially since I’ve written down, jinx.

Aria is putting on loads of weight with the Anti Reflux and Regurgitation milk, it has made a massive difference and she no longer needs to be changed 5 times a day. I was getting covered in her milk. As you can see in the pictures above, we have some sunny days with Summer outfits, but then it’s still been chilly as you can see from the Little Red Riding Hood Coat. Tyler even bought her, her very first Disney Princess blinging ring. Bless.
16 week old girl
After having two boys, having a baby girl is very different even now. Boys you dress in jeans, trousers and a top or cute little onsies. A girl there’s dresses, trousers, skirts, tutu’s, tops and not forgetting the tights, frilly knickers, shoes, etc. Putting on tights are a task in their own, who knew that would take longer than the rest of the outfit. It is lovely having some pink and frills in the house, although pink is still Lucas’ favourite colour and I love that about him.
We’ve had to move Aria out of her Moses basket and into her Stokke Sleepi. I was a little sad to see the Moses basket go, but I’m loving the Stokke Sleepi and how it is designed. She is still in our room, but she went through the transition seamlessly without batting an eye, I was so proud of her.
Baby in a Mug.
Aria loves watching the colours and music on the TV when Disney Junior is on, she especially loves Sofia the first and Mickey Mouse. She still loves her snow suit and I was really struggling to get her to sleep without it when the warmer weather came in, she loves having something soft and snugly at her face. A very cute little bear and blanket did the trick. Bouncy chairs are fabulous things and she loves hers and her Bumbo. She is only in that for a few minutes at a time though. Aria loves to sit up and keeps throwing herself forward in attempt to do so.
Baby Girl and Brothers
Both Lucas and Tyler adore their sister, she is the first person they want to see in the morning and always fuss over her. Tyler is especially good with her and is forever wiping her face or playing with her. The both stay well out of the way when it comes to nappy changing. However, they do like helping in the bath with her. I am so proud of them, I could not have wished for two better brothers for her. They make my heart swell with pride.
18 week old Baby
Aria is still such a smiley baby, very content and only cries if really hungry or tired. She loves playing with toys and is picking them up and putting them to her mouth. Her hand is also in her mouth a lot. Aria is very giggly as well and very tickley. She has the cutest laugh and she laughs at my mum’s curly hair, it’s hilarious. Aria has started to roll, she’s not quite gotten onto her front yet but almost, just her legs under and that will be her. Cow has lost her moo is her favourite book, this was Lucas’ favourite book too, it is one of those soft books. Aria has had all her injections now until she is a year. No real issues with them other than she refused to move her legs for hours and she had a slight temp.
When Aria was 17 weeks, 7 courses of antibiotics and many trips to the doctor my health started to turn the corner. I was sent for a ultrasound scan on my stomach, pelvis and kidneys. When the lady pressed down I screamed in pain and something dislodged. They saw it move and keeping the gory bits out, what came away got sent away for analysis. I got word back the following week that it was left in placenta. The reason I hadn’t become seriously ill was due to all the antibiotics keeping it at bay. Within a few days of this coming out my stomach started to feel much better. It was still tender, but no where near as sore and a few days later I stopped feeling like I had the flu constantly. A few weeks later and I can wear jeans again and touch my stomach without wincing in agony. I can feed the baby without curling up my toes. I am finally on the mend.
18 week old
Aria attended her first blogging conference, Cybher and loved it. She was a perfect angel and I was amazed at how well behaved she was, she cried when she got really tired at the end of the day but that was about it. Aria loves her toys and exploring the world around her, every day she becomes more and more aware. She still has diet Irn Bru shade hair, but that may change. Either way she is perfect. She has fitted into our little family, like she was never not there.
Until next time…
