I love the fact I have a whole range of apps at my finger tips via my phone or my tablet. I can get anything from games, to recipes to health advice all at a click of a button. One of the apps that were particularly useful when I was pregnant were ones that I can look up information on twinges, lists of what I needed to get, hospital bag essentials, etc.
I was very nervous throughout my last pregnancy even though it wasn’t my first pregnancy, it was my third. I’m sure I am not the only one who used to google every little pregnancy twinge, thinking the worst. Now I have the Aptaclub’s preparing for birth App. This app contains loads of articles on advice from morning sickness to bonding with your baby in those precious early days. It also explains the different methods of pain relief in that mind field of drugs or to go for the alternative methods. It’s far better than the ante natal classes I went to where the only thing the girls in my group were interested in was where they could plug in their straighteners. Really, they were.
Best of all the app is free and you can download it from the iTunes store. When I was experiencing braxton hicks I foolishly thought maybe this could be it. The contraction timer is excellent and can put your mind at rest that unless they are regular and getting closer together then it’s not the real thing. It’s easy to use
This app will help you prepare for the later stages of pregnancy, your labour and those early days. The hospital checklist is excellent, the list contains everything you need to get you through that nerve racking time, giving you one less thing to worry about when you know you have all you need packed away in that hospital bag weeks in advance. Better to be prepared. And don’t worry the lists are editable so you can add in those little things that are personal to you. Like I took in a bear that my dad bought for me before he died. I felt that he was with me at that special time.
There is a birth announcement section as well, which is fully customisable. I didn’t use this as I didn’t have any signal from the hospital and was in for quite a while. If I’d been home I would definitely have used these. They look great and it’s such an easy way to get the information out there and in a nice way.
You can download the app from the iTunes store here. It contains a wealth of information for those pregnant, if you are trying for a baby or have a newborn.
