As many of you know my boys love playing computer games, so do my husband and I. I am a big Harry Potter fan so when I was sent Harry Potter for the Xbox 360 Kinect I just had to try it out.
The boys were busy watching my play this than play it themselves to begin with. I loved the fact you had full control and the graphic were great.
It is one of those games that is a novelty at first, but it didn’t wear off for me I’ve played it loads and I love it. The boys are probably a little young being 5 and 3 but I am not. It would be perfect for older children. Getting the movements for the spells correctly is a little tricky and takes practice but once you get the hand of it away you go.
It’s a challenging game and a lot of fun. To play the game, you start out as a new wizard in year 1 and work your way through each level, containing different tasks. Players have to learn to cast spells during lessons in Professor Flitwicks class. The first spell I got to learn was the famous Wingardium Leviosa, where you can make something levitate. I felt like a real life Hermonie Granger. Loved it.
Another thing that was like the film is that you have to wait until your wand chooses you and you get sorted into houses from the sorting hat. The Quidditch Match was a lot of fun and the boys joined in with this one.
The game can be played with two players, which is excellent, as I got the oldest to join in with me and we had so much fun. I think watching and loving the films is a big bonus when it comes to playing the game. You can play in movie mode so you can play as Harry or custom mode to play as your avatar.
If you have a Harry Potter fan, they will love this. It is great fun and fully interactive. Gets you up and moving about the living room.
