When we went to Blackpool in July, we wanted to extend our trip for a few days. On the way back home we decided to stop at Manchester for two nights and visit The Legoland Discovery Centre. We travelled from Blackpool in the rain and stayed arrived at the Premier Inn – Manchester City Centre (Central Convention Complex).
We are big fans of Premier Inn hotels and stayed in them many times. My oldest Lucas, loves staying in hotels. He’s a fan of the Premier in rooms as he says the beds and big and fluffy. As you can see by his face he loves it.
We were in a family room which had a large double bed and two single beds. Which is ideal for us as the boys are pretty restless sleepers so sharing a bed they wake each other up. The room was large, plenty of room for all our stuff and had air conditioning which is great as I get to warm and stuff at night. The bathroom is large, plenty of room for showering and a bath for the little ones. The tv with freeview comes in handy for keeping them entertained for a bit. As you can see below the room is large and spotless. I could not fault it.
We had dinner and breakfast in the dining rooms down stairs which is a Table Table Restaurant. It is bright, homely and the food and service is excellent. There is also a bar there if you are looking for some alcohol.
You can book your hotel room with dinner vouchers which can be spent in the restaurant on a set menu and you can also include breakfast which is great value for money. The first evening we were there we had a delicious meal.
The children’s menu had a lot to choose from.
A tired boy after a long day.
The food was delicious and there was a lot to choose from on both the kids and adult menus. Great value for money and great portions. I had a lovely Carrot and Coriander soup and fish and chips. Of course I fitted in desert which was delicious. The boys loved theirs and even managed to squeeze in some ice-cream.
Fun before bed.
Both boys would permanently live in the Premier Inn and ask every week when we are going back. We have stayed in countless ones all over the country and I have never had any issues or problems with them. They are always comfortable, spotless and the staff go out their way to help. On this occasion Lucas left a teddy. I called the hotel the next day and they found the teddy and returned it to the sad little boy which put a big smile on his face. Thank you Premier Inn.
On the Saturday we went to Legoland Discovery Centre, which is in the Trafford Centre. This is a fantastic place to visit, I think it’s better than Legoland which I found a bit outdated last time I was there. The Discovery centre is indoors so it’s weather beaten and you can visit no matter what the weather.
There are 4 different rides to choose from all of which are suitable for little ones, probably 3 and up. The boys loved the rides and you can go on as many times as you like. Both boys loved driving the Lego cars the best. The Legoland town and city’s for me is the best bit. The are done so well, but the most amazing part is that they all light up and the room you are in goes a full 24hour circle from morning until night time. Where at night there is a fireworks display that appears to be in the night sky. So well done and looks stunning. I cannot rate this highly enough. There is of course a Lego play area and lots of things to make and do throughout the place. Lastly finishing off in the store.
I would highly recommend the Legoland Discovery centre, we will definitely be back as soon as we can. It’s excellent.
As for Premier Inn’s they are excellent, no faults and a great price. If you need a bed for the night, this is where you want to stay.
Disclaimer:- Our two night hotel stay and meals were provided by Premier Inn, but the views above are my own. I paid for tickets for Legoland Discovery Centre out of my own pocket.
