I have an iPad which I love. I blog on it, I write my novel on it, surf the web, I read emails, tweet and play games on it. However, my boys also love it. They are quick learners and when it comes to technology they are pretty clued up. Showing the Grandparents they way round the iPad was a doddle for them and watching the Grandparent in awe at home swiftly they moved from pictures to games to movies, was something.
My oldest Lucas started school last week and it has been a great educational tool for him, he’s been reading and tracing his letters with the apps. He’s picked up and learned a lot from it. My youngest Tyler loves watching and listening to the story apps which are played out.
My boys love toys and there are nothing more exciting than a new toy. Now there is a way to mix the love of technology with a good old fashioned toy. Coming this month is a fun new product from Mattel called Apptivity, this allows children to play with actual physical toys in an iPad game. There are various packs Angry Birds, Hot Wheels, Batman and Fruit Ninja. You can download the free app and play by putting the actual toys on the touch screen on the iPad. How cool is that. What a fun way to play.
