Review – Hexbug Nano – We Love Hexbugs

5th December 2011 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

I have been hearing about these little Hexbugs for the last year but I have never seen one. We were sent a couple through to play with and I have to say these little guys did not fail to disappoint. I loved them, they were so much fun.
Lucas was mesmerised by them.

My little one Tyler couldn’t help but giggle continuously at them. Even hubby loved them and kept one for himself.

So what are Hexbugs? Well they are micro sized robotic critters, both colourful and collectible and behave like real insects. So how do they work? Well they work with a little motor, they cuttle over the surface and change direction if they hit something. The Nano is the smallest but mightiest of the Hexbugs, they use the physics of vibration to propel themselves forward and explore it’s environment. Powered by a tiny motor and 12 fixed, angular legs, they can quickly navigate through complex mazes. And what amazing balance it has, even if on it’s back, it can flip to it’s feet and zoom forward.
The boys had so much fun playing with these original little robot creatures.
There are several different types of Hexbugs, there are Nanos, Inchworm, Crab, Original, Ant and Spider each behave differently and have their own traits. They come in a variety of designs and colours.
I have to say these are one of our favourite toys we have ever had, not just with the children but I love them and so does my husband. We have bought them some more for their Christmas and a couple of habitats. These are toys your children will go back to again and again. One of the best things is they are small so you don’t need much storage and they can be taken away with the child, if they are staying at grandparents, etc. I would recommend these to everyone both young and old.
Check out the range of Hexbug’s on their website.
Disclaimer:- I was sent 3 Hexbug Nanos. The views I expressed are my own.
