A Look Back At 2011

31st December 2011 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

For the boys it’s been quite a year. One starting the year off having just turned 4 and the other turned 2 at the end of January. We were out of that baby stage and into the terrible twos. And boy does Tyler know how to do the terrible two’s stage, my smiley, happy boy one minute to demon spawn the next. But that’s what makes him, him and wouldn’t have it any other way.
January my baby turned 2 and my blog turned 1 all on the same day. Nothing much happening February and March, we plodded along working away, going to nursery an having temper tantrums. At the end of March beginning of April saw us go on holiday to Peppa Pig World, Fishers Farm Park and Legoland. Plus we visited some family along the way. We had a great time.
May was Lucas’ last full month at nursery. I think I spent a lot of time panicking about what was going to happen when he finished nursery. Lucas also got glasses, he looks very cute in them.

June was all about Lucas graduating from nursery.
Then there was Cybermummy of course where I got to meet so many wonderful bloggers that I have come to call my friends. I was sponsored by the wonderful Sacla.
I stopped in at the amazing Highgate cemetery whilst I was in London. It is a truly eerie, stunning and wonderful place. You must visit.
In July I got to do one of the most amazing things I have ever done. I got to stay over night in a castle. Yes really? For the launch of The Poison Diaries sequel Nightshade I was invited to Alnwick castle. We got to have dinner in the amazing Treehouse Restaurant, a tour of the castle, high tea in the state dining room, a reading from the first chapter by the Duchess herself and a candle light tour of the poison gardens. This truly was a once in a lifetime experience and I loved every minute of it. I also got to meet so many of the lovely book bloggers I have spoken to for such a long time. It really was a perfect for days.
August was a big month for us, not all in good ways. We went on holiday to a caravan in Whitely Bay which resulted in Lucas getting the chicken pox, which in turn resulted in me getting the chicken pox, then Tyler. The only one that escaped was daddy, turns out he gave it to us as he had shingles but we didn’t know that at the time.
Lucas also started school and I couldn’t have been prouder of him.
August/September we were really potty training Tyler. He got off to difficult start but then got the hang of it.
September was about settling into the school routine, lunches, etc and it was also my birthday.
October I got to go to The Fish is the Dish event. This was so much fun and I got to meet so many bloggers who are my very dear friends. We learned how to cook some amazing fish from the lovely Chef Jacqueline and got to try some yummy dishes.
Let’s not forget Halloween.
November saw a visit from the dummy fairy, which was a success and I visited The Moiderer
Also we lost our gorgeous cat Yoshi in November.
December has been such a busy month with school stuff, finishing work for the holidays, Lucas’ 5th birthday and Christmas.
We had an amazing time over the Christmas period. Lucas had a special day even if it was Christmas eve and Christmas was the best yet, truly magical with two little believers.
So that leaves me to say hope you have a wonderful Hogmanay and hope you all have a wonderful New Year and all our dreams come true in 2012. Let’s see what it brings.
