Game Review – Rayman Origins

23rd December 2011 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

I loved Rayman growing up, it was one of my favourite games to play on my PSone, remember those. I was a teenager a late one at that but loved my games consoles even then.
So when I was sent Rayman Origins by the very clever people at Ubisoft I was delighted and couldn’t wait to give it a go. I played this on the Xbox 360 and was not disappointed, the graphics are amazing and the game is so much fun. The platform legend is back and I love it.
They may have went back to the original design with the side scrolling platform but this is in High definition and looks amazing. The animation is awesome and it’s just such a joy to play. This is one game that will leave you with a big smile on your face.

There are various different levels, in fact there are over 60, so no chance of getting bored. It is quite challenging in parts but very entertaining. I only played the one player game so far but you can play with up to 4 players, which I will be giving a go over the holidays. One of the best bits about this is that additional players can jump in while I am playing and leave without affecting my game. The game is about helping Rayman and his strange looking friends trying to restore peace and harmony to their homeland Glade of Dreams and to get rid of the Darktoons.
I would highly recommend this game. I loved it and as a die hard Rayman fan, I was not disappointed. It is challenging but not too difficult that I was getting frustrated. The boys were too young to play this just now, but I will keep it for them. They did enojoy watchign me play and cheered me along. All in all a great family fun game for 7+. Rayman Origins is available for Wii, PS3 and XBox. The XBox version is currently £34.69.
Disclaimer:- I was sent a copy of this game in exchange for an honest review.
