This is my second post on our Fish is the Dish event, you can catch up with the first one here, if you haven’t read it already and see how much fun we had.
Our second day we went to Martin Wishart’s Cook School, where we met the lovely Jacqueline O’Donnel celebrity chef and owner of The Sisters restaurants in Glasgow.
First up we filleted a fish. Something I have never done before. It was fun and easy but not as easy as Jacqueline made it look. Also I, didn’t chop my finger off yet!
She taught us how to cook three dishes, which I have the pictures below.
First up was Smoke Mackerel Pate, you can check the recipe on the website. This was delicious and very easy to make.
Next we made some delicious Fish Broth. Again have a look at the receipe. I have never tried Fish soup before but it won’t be the last. Look how good this looks? And this was where I managed to slice the top of my finger off. I should not be allowed loose with a knife.
Last dish was Fruity Fish in a Parcel.
Note the plaster.
I was very proud of all the dishes.
We had great fun eating the dishes.
