This is my entry for the lovely Josie’s Writing Workshop over at Sleep is for the Weak.
This week’s prompt is “Time“. Here is my poem based on this prompt, hope you like it.
Time
It only feels like a few months ago,
You were such a tiny little thing,
Coming into the world,
A huge pair of lungs on you,
And that little tufts of black hair.
You were such a tiny little thing,
Coming into the world,
A huge pair of lungs on you,
And that little tufts of black hair.
Daddy thought you looked a bit Chinese,
But we both agreed you were beautiful,
I looked into your gorgeous little eyes,
And I feel in love,
I have been in awe ever since.
Now look at you,
Writing your name,
Running about,
Counting to 100,
Being such a good big brother.
You are my big school boy,
I couldn’t be prouder,
You will always be my baby,
But time does seem to slip away,
Don’t take each day for granted.
Hope you enjoyed my poem, why not check out the rest of the entries over at Sleep is for the weak.
