I am a proud member of the World Food Fusion Taste Team. We were sent through a very cool hamper of sauces, an apron and a recipe note book to get us started.
Our first challenge was China. We were given a recipe for a Prawn Ginger and Chili Stir Fry. I only had our local Morrisons and Sainsbury’s to hand so couldn’t get all the ingredients listed but did my best with the substitutes. I also added some chicken as well as the prawns since hubby and youngest weren’t so keen.
Ingredients:-
1 Bottle Worldfoods Chinese ginger garlic chili sauce
2 Diced Chicken Breasts
300g Prawns
20g Basil Leaves (ripped)
5 Leaves Kaffir Lime Leaf (ripped)
5 Peppercorns (crushed)
3 small chillies (sliced)
Some fresh ginger (julienned)
Packed of rice noodles
Instructions:-
Pan fry the chicken in the wok with a small amount of oil. Once cooked add in the World foods Chinese ginger garlic chili sauce, next add in the prawns. Once cooked add in the other ingredients. Keep stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens. Cook the rice noodles in a separate pot of boiling water. Plate up the noodles and add your prawns, chicken and sauce on top. Serve.
I found this very quick and easy to cook. Now I’m not usually the cook in the house, my husband is, but even I did this effortlessly. Cooks in less than 1/2 hour, about 15 minutes at most if only using prawns. The dish itself was very tasty, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing I would add was it was a little on the hot side for the little ones with the extra chilli’s, but it did not stop them from eating and enjoying it. Next time I would miss them out. And yes there will be a next time. Look how much the little ones loved it.
