This is my entry for the lovely Josie’s Writing Workshop over at Sleep is for the Weak.
“I dream of a love that even time will lie down and be still for.”
Walking down the street,
Our eyes meet,
Time stands still,
I forget to breath,
My heart beats faster,
My palms start to sweat.
I could have been minutes,
I could have been hours,
We are still like statues,
Finally we blink,
We move closer.
Closer still,
Our eyes never moving,
My heart flutters in my chest,
The butterflies rise,
The anticipation is bubbling.
Our heads tilt,
Our lips touch,
Our breathing syncs,
Our arms intertwine,
Our hearts beat as one.
Hope you enjoyed my poem, why not check out the rest of the entries over at Sleep is for the weak.
