Review – The Wooden Toy Shop – Plan Toys Pirate Ship & Wooden Blocks

29th August 2011 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

When I was asked if I wanted to review something from The Wooden Toy Shop I jumped at the chance. Go have a look for yourself and see why I jumped, their online shop is amazing with it’s wealth of toys. I am a huge fan of toys and it is actually one of the reasons I had children, so I could play with toys again and not get strange looks.

My oldest is obsessed with pirates just now, he loves Peter Pan and his favourite is Captain Hook. Don’t quite think he gets that he’s the baddy. So I chose the Plan Toys Pirate Ship for him to review. It is fantastic, it is a wooden toy, which we don’t have a lot of. However it has converted me and I will buy more wooden toys in future. It is simple, the pieces don’t have loads of bits to break off or lose. It is sturdy, there is no way my two and four year old are breaking this. Lucas absolutely loves it and is constantly playing with it.
The pirate ship comes with the ship itself, the mast, a lookout, some ladders, two cannons, 3 blue pirates, captain hook type pirate and another pirate, a crocodile, a rowing boat complete with oars, a barrel of rum and of course it’s own treasure chest.
There is so much fun to be had with this, I hear him making up stories and chatting away to the pirates. It really is a perfect imagination toy. I am over the moon with it and I know Lucas loves it.

We were also sent a box of John Crane 100 wooden blocks for my youngest Tyler. I remember having these as a child and how much fun I had building them up and knocking them down. This is exactly what Tyler proceeded to do with them.
He loves the John Crane 100 wooden blocks and the are perfect, sturdy and pack up into their little plastic container.
I am not converted to Wooden Toys, yes they may be more expensive than the plastic ones, but they last longer, are sturdy and won’t break. I would highly recommend the Wooden Toy Shop. It has a great selection of toys for all ages and all tastes, so what are you waiting for.

Disclaimer:- I was sent these toys to review in exchange for my honest opinion which I have given above.
