The series features 26 x 10 minute episodes.

Review:- Poppy Cat, the new Nick Jnr show, brings animated life the wonderful world of the preschool children’s character created by Lara Jones in the Macmillan book series that has sold over 2 million copies, which were first around in 2003. The show is premiering on Nick Jnr this month. The lovely Joanna Page, who is well known for her role in Gavin and Stacey, is the voice of Poppy cat.

The adventures that Poppy Cat and her sidekicks  Mo the mouse, Egbert the badger, Owl, Alma the rabbit and ZuZu the dog, go on are made up by her owner Lara. A lovely young girl with a colourful imagination. They are told from Lara’s point of view with a fantastic story telling ability, who talks to her faithful cat Poppy. They travel to magical destinations and have so much fun, in pirate ships, hot air balloons and rocket rides.

The patchwork backgrounds in the show are a perfect in complimenting the books. Poppy flicks his bandana and the magical vehicles, etc appear.

The episodes are the right length for pre-schoolers not to long they get bored and loose interest but not too short that they scream for more.  The show is about problem solving and friendship, so lots of valuable lessons to be learned.

Poppy Cat is on Nick Jnr (Sky 615, Virgin 715 and TalkTalk 318) at10.00am every weekday.
