We love outdoor adventures in our family. Our days off are precious and there is nothing better than getting out into the great outdoors.
Living in Scotland, we see more than our fair share of snow. There is nothing better than seeing the excitement on a little one’s face when he sees snowfall for the first time. We are well equipped for adventures in the snow, from sledging to building snowmen, to snowball throwing to making snow angels. So many adventures and with the exception of last Winter it usually passes far too quickly.
Sometimes having adventures in your own back garden are the most exciting. There is bubble blowing, watching those little globes fly off into the wind can be mesmerising. Finding little furry creatures running around, we have many grey squirrels, which come up quite close.
Parks and zoos are a huge favourite with my two boys, we love meeting the animals and exploring what’s around the next corner. You never know whom you might meet.
Slides, swings, and roundabouts are adventures each of their own. We have all grown up with the timeless classics and we never tire of them. Slides are an amazing concept to a little one; they can climb through, go down, and climb up. Simple tasks to us, but an adventure to a toddler.
Give a child a ball and they know what to do with it. So much fun and adventure can be had from one of the simplest toys are you can see below. It’s a football, it’s an alien space ship, it’s a rocket shooting into the sky, and the possibilities are endless.
One of our favourite outdoor adventures is going for a ride on our bikes. Up the hill, down the hill, round the corner and down the street. Who knows where that adventure will take us…?
