On the first of April we went to Legoland Windsor. This was the second stop of our mini English holiday. I have to say this was way better than I was expecting. I thought it would be good, but it was excellent.
The day we went was the first day of their new season. It was also their 15th Birthday so the boys got to collect lots of cool Lego badges which they loved and still play with. One of the best things about it being this day was that the schools weren’t on holiday so it was pretty quiet and we didn’t have to queue for anything. With a 2 and 4 year old this helped a lot.
A lot of the rides were able to accommodate the little ones which were great, we only had one set of tears when Tyler couldn’t go on the Lego cars because he had to be 3. To make up for it he got a Build a Bear type teddy, which he takes everywhere and called Peppa.
We met Harry Potter, shot some laser guns, rode on a dragon, drove some diggers, met some pirates and went up in a big balloon and that was only in the morning. Not forgetting driving cars and playing in the Duplo section. We got to build with some lego and see many, many wonderful sculptures, which you have to see to appreciate. I was blown away with the buildings in the miniature lego world, they were simply amazing.
The new submarine ride wasn’t open yet and the stunt show was cancelled but there was so much to see and do we didn’t notice. The train ride up and down to the main section more than made up for the initial disappointment of the new ride not being open.
Have a look at the collection of our pictures below to see how much fun we had.
We bought some Duplo whilst we were there as that’s what the boys are into just now and they play with it constantly. They also have a huge collection of the Lego mini figures keyrings and mini figures which you can make up. The shop has a fantastic lego selection.
I would recommend Legoland Windsor to everyone. We had a great time and we will be back next time we are in the area.
