Valentines Day – No Baby Sitter – No Problem

5th February 2011 By Susan Mann 5 Comments

If you have no baby sitter for Valentines Day, but want to have a romantic evening, here is what I planned one year.
We like going to the cinema for a night out, but we couldn’t so I brought the cinema to us.
I went to the supermarket to buy the food you can buy at the cinema. Obviously it was cheaper, I feel cinema food is a bit of a rip off. What do you think?

I bought some hot dog sausages, rolls, diet cola, some paper cups, (I was going for authentic) nachos, dip and a selection of sweets in case we wanted the extortionate pic and mix.
I had ice-cream in the house already. I made fresh popcorn. I was all covered for food. I even put the sweets in the paper cups too. I’d like to state we don’t buy all this food when we go to the cinema but I wanted to make sure I had it all for authenticity.
Food sorted. Next the film. We has gotten a few DVDs for Christmas which we hadn’t gotten around to watching yet, so I looked them out for hubby to choose. You could rent a film, buy one, watch one on the television or like us one you already have.
So we have the food, the film, what’s next? Lighting. I closed the curtains. I will be switching the lights off for the film so I got torch out in case either of us needed a piddle. You can’t switch the light on in the cinema now can you?
Last but most important I made two tickets. I made two special tickets to a very exclusive cinema. It also said how much I loved him. I drew some pictures on them, cut them out and they were done.
Now time to have a sit down, maybe a glass of wine and wait for my date.
What do you do to make Valentines Day special?

Lol, we do exactly NOTHING! Romantically 🙂 It doesn't appeal in this house, in fact, all it really means is that people buy more red, white and pink Hama Beads!

You are so lovely. What a fantastic idea. Maybe I could kick my hubs out then have the whole cinema experience with the girls 😀
