Product Review – Sacla’ Pesto Range

29th November 2010 By Susan Mann 1 Comment

When I was given the opportunity to review a range of Pesto sauces from Sacla’ I jumped at the chance. I love Pesto and so do my kiddies. I love nothing more than a simple bowl of pasta with pesto, some grated Parmesan and some garlic bread. mmmmmm…
Classic Basil Pesto
Description: Close your eyes and conjure up the aroma of freshly picked basil, the rich release of crushed pine kernels and a hit of newly grated Grana Padano cheese. These are the signature notes of our classic green pesto. Stir it through a steaming plate of pasta and shower with Parmesan. It’s equally welcome when it’s spooned over new potatoes, in place of butter, or generously stuffed under the skin of a chicken breast before roasting.
Review: Myself and my two boys love Pesto so this was a huge hit. Pesto with pasta and some chicken as in the picture to the right is a fast, healthy and well received meal. Sacla’ Basil Pesto is always in my cupboard.
New Wild Garlic Pesto

Description: Our new Wild Garlic Pesto is truly irresistible. The combination of gorgeous Wild Garlic and fragrant Basil will tantalise your taste buds. For a deliciously simple supper, just stir through your favourite cooked pasta and shower with Parmesan. Be inspired – spread a generous spoonful onto a sliced ciabatta and bake. For the ultimate comfort creation swirl through creamy mashed potato and serve with love.
Review: Again I loved this, I kept this entire jar to myself for some pasta and I also made some lovely homemade garlic bread with this one. Yes I know, no kissing for me but it was a delicious dinner. I hadn’t bought this one in the past but will be doing so in the future.
Fiery Chilli Pesto

Description: There’s a real kick in every spoonful of our fiery chilli Pesto. Just stir through your favourite cooked pasta and serve with a glass of robust red. Be inspired – brush generously on to skewers of chicken, wrap in pancetta and simply grill.

Review: This is my favourite out of the three I tried. It was spicy, tasty and simply delicious. I didn’t give any to the little ones as it had a bit of a kick to it. But this is one that will be permanently in my cupboard. Simple easy to make meal of pasta with firey chilli pesto and some grated Parmesan as in the plate to the right.
I would recommend these sauces to everyone. Pesto is one of the most versatile products you can buy. Why not check out what you can do in these recipes here.
Thank you very much to Sacla’ for sending me these sauces to review.
