Product Review – Melissa and Doug Wooden Shape Sorting Clock

19th November 2010 By Susan Mann Leave a Comment

Description:- The time to teach is now! A colorful wooden clock features 12 wooden blocks, each a different shape, which fit into matching slots, plus movable hands! With lots of “timely” information on the hands and clock face, this is the perfect toy to help children master an abstract concept.
Dimensions: 9″ Diameter x 2.75″H Assembled
Recommended Ages: 3+ years
Review:- I have to say, this is one of my favourite toys ever. Not only is it good fun, strong, indestructable but it’s great fun. I have two boys one aged 21 months and the other is just under 4, and both of them love this clock. As soon as I opened it, the older one was pointing out all the colours and numbers to the little one. The little one was interested in taking the shapes out and putting them back in. He’s very good at it. The oldest one was asking all about where the hands should go and asking what time it was.
The clock is solid wood, which has an angled block on the bottom which allows the clock to sit at an angle. Something I have not seen in other products. Also the shapes don’t fit into other shapes slots it forced unlike some shape sorters I have come across.
All in all, I think this is a fantastic product which everyone should by with a child under the age of 5. There is so much to learn and do. Plus it’s hard wearing.
Thank you very much to KiddieBase we sent me this clock to review, you have made two little boys very happy. Check out the KiddieBase website for more items like this.
