Gallery 34 – Seasons

10th November 2010 By Susan Mann 8 Comments

This week’s Gallery Prompt at from the lovely Tara over at Sticky Fingers is Seasons.
Autumn is my favourite time of year. I love the crisp, fresh mornings. The sky is blue, the air is cold and the grass is covered in frost. I love the dark, cold nights, snuggled up indoors.
These are the pictures I think represent Autumn to me.
A frost covered spiderweb.
A silhouette of a bare tree. Nothing nicer I think that a bare tree. I have always loved looking at trees, I even did my higher art exam based on pictures of trees.

Check out the rest of the entries on Tara’s Blog.

I love that web – fantastic and, you're right, it sums up autumn very nicely!

I love threes, but they are not all bare yet, just at their sad last leaves stage

That spider web is gorgeous! We had a squatter in the back garden a few weeks ago, he would spin his little heart out, disappear when his web was shattered by the wind, and then start all over again. A strangely simple life, yet not one that envy!

I too love bare trees. Posted one on a previous gallery (the red one I think. They are so architectural aren't they? And real indicators of the seasons..

I love the angle of the spider web as it takes me right back to my childhood when I would gaze at them on my way to school and marvel at them sparkling in the low, autumn light. And the bare tree is kind of haunting – but I always think bare trees have so much character – all arms and long fingers reaching out and clawing at the air, waiting for the warmth of spring to bring them back to full life.
