Winnie the Witch in Space

21st September 2010 By Susan Mann 2 Comments

Winnie in Space by Valerie Thomas and Korky Paul
Description: Have you ever dreamed about a journey into space? Wondered what spectacular secrets are hidden in the twinkling night sky? Satisfy your curiosity with Winnie the Witch and Wilbur’s latest adventure and discover some surprises along the way in the eleventh title in the bestselling Winnie the Witch series, Winnie in Space.

When Winnie decides the time is right for a bit of space exploration, Wilbur is not so sure. Chasing moths, bats and shadows is quite enough adventure for him. But with a wave of her wand and a shout of ‘Abracadabra!’ a magic rocket appears and off they shoot into space, armed with a special space picnic basket and a big book of spells.
With a peaceful ‘plop’ they land on the perfect planet for their scrumptious space picnic and are soon joined by the long‐eared, twitchy inhabitants of the planet. But these space rabbits have strange eating habits, they love munching on metal and find Winnie’s space rocket particularly tasty. Before Winnie can say ‘blithering broomsticks’ they have eaten up the entire metal rocket.
Will Winnie’s quick thinking and magic keep the rabbits happy and get her and Wilbur home again?
Wilbur certainly hopes so as there’s no place like home. Find out how they make it home in Winnie in
Space, the latest dazzling adventure in the Winnie collection, accompanied by Korky Paul’s captivating
illustrations.
An exciting first introduction into the magic of space, guaranteed to enthral young children and spark their interest in the solar system. Includes a handy mnemonic from Winnie to help children remember all the planets in order.
A must‐have gift for Halloween and a wonderful addition to your Winnie collection.
Review: We LOVE this book so much, I have never had a book which has been read so many times. My three years wants me to read it to him three or four times a day. It is the must be read before bedtime book and at various times throughout the day.
I love witches, so this book appeals to me and I have to say I love reading it, no matter how many times. It’s great.
I can’t recommend this book enough, it is long enough to contain a great story but short enough to hold a young childs attention. The art work is fantastic and there is a different planet on each page giving you and your child something to learn as the story carries on. My little one also loves counting the spiders on each page.
It is a great book for an end of day discussion and bonding session. There is so much to read, discuss and look at. The rocket, space rabbits not to mention Winnie and her cat Wilbur.
Go out buy this book for your child, grandchild, neice, nephew, random kid as they will love it I guarantee, suits both boys and girls.
Thank you so much Liz Scott PR & Marketing for sending me this book to reivew. We really do love it.

We picked up a copy of one of the Winnie books at a second hand fair recently. I wasn't sure if my Little Man would like it as it has a girl witch, but he laughed himself silly at her antics.I would love to collect all of them eventually as they are well written with gorgeous illustrations!
