Description: How can you know someone you’ve never met? Joyce Conway remembers things she shouldn’t. She knows about tiny cobbled streets in Paris, which she has never visited. And every night she dreams about an unknown little girl with blonde hair. Justin Hitchcock is divorced, lonely and restless. He arrives in Dublin to give a lecture on art and meets an attractive doctor, who persuades him to donate blood. It’s the first thing to come straight from his heart in a long time. Review: A lighthearted charming novel an excellent summer read for an afternoon at the beach.
There is a great deal of humour and sadness in this novel. Each character is well written with humour and kindness and insight into differences in relaitionships that exists between family members and friends.
The main thread throughout this novel is an obvious work of fantansy, it’s content has intrigued and been debated over for decades and I am sure that some readers will be excited by the prospect that it could be true whereas others will be appalled.
Worth a read if only to raise the issue and continue the debate.
This review is not my “normal” type of read, it was in fact done by Magdalene McAleenan. Thank you Magda for this great review.

oh I tried…. and tried… and battled… and ploughed… and strained…I read whole paragraphs over and over…but no… this is the only rom-com romantic girly book or whatever you wanna call it that I've EVER given up on!!Could not get into it AT ALL, which was such a shame as I've loved the other books I've read form her!
mm I have this book to read, think i actually got it free with a magazine, im not sure x
Although I personally prefer fiction set in reality, Miss Aherns captures your interest from the first page through her wit, humor, and vulnerability. The main character, Joyce, has a beautiful, loving relationship with her elderly father that will warm your heart. Her knowledge and understanding of the elderly is admirable. Her adventures are exciting and impulsive. This is a book you'll never want to finish.
Glad you enjoyed it. It's not my cup of tea. x
