Product Review – Garofalo Pasta

15th July 2010 By Susan Mann 4 Comments

I received a packet of Garofalo Pasta and Spaghetti for review from Specialist Foods Limited.
Garofalo’s History:
Garofalo has been making pasta for over 200 years and today produces the Signature line from its headquarters near the world-renowned ruins of Pompeii. Garofalo’s Signature line of pastas combines decades of knowledge of the art and skill of traditional Neapolitan pasta making with the efficiencies of today’s technology to create top quality pasta products.
We love pasta in our house, so reviewing pasta was great for us. The pasta we had to review was Radiatori. I have never seen this type of pasta before, so it was something a bit different from the normal penne, fusili, etc.
I have to say this is the best pasta I have ever had. The texture was just right, the taste was just right and it looked just right. This is what my lovely hubby made with the pasta.
I was lucky enough to get another bag to sample at Cybermummy, needless to say it came all the way back with me from London to Glasgow. That is how much I love this pasta.
The spaghetti was also a great product, the texture of it was great and the taste was great too. I didn’t like it as much as the pasta but only because I loved the pasta more than anything.
The only downside I found was that, there were no cooking instructions on the packaging. Now I know almost everyone knows how to cook pasta but sometimes different makes cook slightly differently. I just think this would be useful to have. But other than that, I give this top marks.

I made the pasta we got in our goodie bag as well and it was really good! I'd never had that shape before, but it really held the sauce well 🙂

We enjoyed ours too, after the disappointment that it wasn't Gruffalo pasta! Was delish with prawns and a creamy white wine sauce! Top marks in our house too!
