Wedding Dress Meme

15th April 2010 By Susan Mann 12 Comments

I was tagged by the lovely Elaine Scott, to do the Wedding Dress Meme.

Elaine was a lovely bride and I was lucky enough to get to see her in person at her wedding reception. Which btw was fancy dress. It was a great night. However heavily pregnant I was.

Here is my dress :

This was taken by my sister in law, who was my gorgeous witness, before we left my hotel room.
We got married on my 30th birthday, 28th September 2007 at Anvil Hall in Gretna Green. We got married at 6pm by candlelight and it was everything I could imagine, romantic and wonderful. We had around 30 close friends and family there, so it wasn’t anything too big.
I bought my dress from a shop in Hamilton called Suellise. This was my second wedding dress, the first one I bought online but didn’t like it when it arrived, the colour was all wrong. So I was left with having to go dress shopping, now I hate shopping so I reluctantly went with my mother. I went to the shop in Hamilton, looking for something different in black or red.
I tried on a black on and it looked too much like a ball gown so I tried on red. The dress was gorgeous and had a lovely red veil to match. I tried it on and thought I looked like a flamenco dancer.
My mum got me to try on a white dress, which I was adamant I didn’t want. I wanted something different. So to keep her happy I tried on a white dress. This is the above dress, my one and only white dress I tired on. I fell in love with it and the gorgeous veil with diamonties on it.
No-one expected me to be in white so it was quite a shock for everyone including my other half.
I would now like to tag the mysterious Mystery Mum.

You look sooooo beautiful! You hear so many times of brides being adament that they want something different and have a coloured dress but then when it comes to it – they fall in love with a white dress.. But in your case I can see why – it is just gorgeous! And the wedding sounds just perfect x And was your bouquet made of crystals? It looks amazing twinny x
