I know it’s Christmas day, but I’m a creature of habit and like to do these posts while they are still fresh in my head. I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas. Last weekend was a very lazy and chilled one, trying to recover from the illness of the week before and get Aria back to health. You can see she was starting to smile again in her photo at the top, but so drawn in and pale. Come Monday, Tyler was back at school and learning his lines to play the part of Joseph in the Nativity. I think all the stress and sleepless nights caught up on me, come Monday afternoon I had to come home from work. I felt awful and I usually struggle through it, but on this occassion I couldn’t. I’ve never been off sick in I don’t know how long. I came home and headed straight to bed, thankfully mum kept the kids down stairs so I could get some sleep. I felt a little more human come Wednesday. We kept Aria off nursery, but on Wednesday we all went to see Tyler play that part of Joseph in the nativity at the church with the school. What a wee star he was, and there was even a little awkward hug with Mary. The whole church went aww. Ahh to be 7 again. Yes, he was suitably embarrassed. The picture isn’t great, but you get the jist.
It was Christmas parties galore at school and although Aria missed out on all the fun at nursery over the last two weeks, they did send home some Christmas items she made which were lovely. She’s been busy writing her Christmas cards to her friends and is getting really good at writing her own name without any prompting or writing it down by us. Come Thursday we were all suitably knackered and ready for the holidays to begin. I had the morning off to get my haircut and got a whopping 5 or 6 inches off it. Then went to work in the afternoon. School finished and I finished until the 9th of January and I am ecstatic to spend the time with the kids. Robert didn’t finish until Friday, so the kids and I made some bears, watched some Christmas films and got ready for Lucas birthday the next day.
Saturday, Christmas eve was Lucas birthday. You can read all about his year in the post I wrote. That is the Pokemon cake I made for him. What do you think? He went to the Rangers football game with his dad and we had a lovely family birthday dinner for him in the evening, before switching to Christmas eve mode. How was your week?
And with that, I’d like to wish all my readers, friends and family a very happy Christmas. You all mean the world to me and bring me joy and support everyday and for that I’m forever grateful. I hope your Christmas it is filled with love, laughter and sparkles. Love to you and your families xxx
