After yesterday’s excitement of my little boy Tyler turning 7, it is the turn of my little Princess and she turns 3. How on earth did that happen? It doesn’t seem long ago since I was posting about our pregnancy and then it flew by to my last bump post and the big birth day. Now here I am celebrating her 3rd birthday. Here she is when she turned two, look how much she’s grown.
This year has been another big developmental year from going from cot in her baby girls room to toddler bed. Lots of new words, sentences and she will pretty much attempt any word. She loves to dance, sing and shout. It is very cute when she sings twinkle twinkle and pretty much any nursery rhyme. She finds her way around her brothers ipad’s and kindle to get to the nursery rhymes to dance and sing too.
Aria is very much a girlie girl which is nice after having two boys, but they still played with dolls and Aria plays with cars and football too. Toys are toys at the end of the day. But it’s nice to dress her up in pretty dresses and she adores wearing Princess dresses. She loves Disney Princesses especially the older ones like Snow White and Cinderella. Her favourite is Snow White and she adores the dwarfs, especially Doopey. We watch it together and sing along. Reading the books every night are her favourite and reading to the kids is one of my favourite times of the day.
Aria has a very strong bond with her brothers, they adore her and her them. They spend time playing with her, reading with her and helping her. They are very sweet and patient, a lot more than they are with each other. I love nothing more than listening to them chatting and watching them lie beside her and read.
In true red headed little girl style, she is a feisty one. She doesn’t have any temper tantrums, but she is stubborn. She knows what she wants to wear and eat. You can usually reason with her and there is usually a compromise, but she is strong willed and knows her own mind. No bad thing in my eyes. Everyone asks where she gets her red hair from. I am dark haired as is her daddy, her brothers are fair and dark. I am guessing my two uncles and grandfather may have passed the red haired genes onto her. It’s a beautiful colour.
She loves getting her hair done and even cut. We tend to get it trimmed when the boys are getting theirs. She sits on my knee perfectly. Aria is a clever cookie, getting herself dressed, brushes her teeth, I do it too, brushes her hair and can even put her pj’s on herself. However, when it comes to potty training, it’s a big no no. I am hoping we can crack that shortly. Today she said she would, so far I’m not convinced which is why I am late writing this post. I will keep you posted. Fingers crossed.
High on Aria’s Christmas list and birthday wish lists were dolls and Lottie Dolls as well as baby dolls are her favourite toys. She loves shooshing her babies in their prams and spends hours chatting and playing with her Lottie Dolls. She adores them and we spend so much time playing together. Taking me back to my childhood memories of playing with my Sindy dolls. Yes I was a Sindy girl in the 80’s.
Being a toddler Aria never stays still. Loving to jump, you have to jump up and down in puddles, especially when your favourite shoes are bright pink wellies. It’s the essential part of being a toddler isn’t it?
Everyone with a toddler knows, it’s certainly not plain sailing, alcohol may be required some days, especially when sandwiches have to be cut in a particular way and you can never have the right colour of plate to hand. We’ve all been there. However, having a toddler is the most amazing thing in the world. The wonder in their eyes at things we take for granted, the excitement at bubbles and the sheer energy and fun in everything they do. I personally love this stage and if I could just pause time for a bit, I would. Aria love magic and yes she’s changed us all into frogs and we’ve had to ribbit about many times.
Aria loves to blow bubbles and they are amazing to watch them float go up into the sky. It’s been a whirlwind of a year and she’s come on leaps and bounds. Her next year will see some big changes, hopefully with potty training, yes I may have said she’ll still be in nappies at 30 and right now, it looks like it might be the case. Wish my luck and send gin. Then there is nursery, she starts nursery in March and I will miss her terribly, even though I’m at work, I love being with her on my days off. Next January before she turns 4 I will have to register her for school too, sob. But let’s not thing about that.
If I could give her one quote to take away with, it would be the one above. It’s perfect!
She’s adorable and her brothers adore her. Aria completes our family and we can’t imagine what life was like without her. Happy birthday to my gorgeous little princess, I am looking forward to another year of colouring, playing, reading stories and being around you. You light up our lives. Love you Princess xxx
