We are huge fans of Disney on Ice as you can read on our numerous posts throughout my blog. I first went to Disney on Ice when I was just 12. It was one of those birthday treats I will always remember as a child. I wanted my children to experience the same. All the Disney on Ice shows are different, the Disney on Ice Magical Festival main event is the latest in the Disney phenomenon that is Frozen.
We saw Disney on Ice Magical Festival at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, which is a stunning building, getting into the car park and back out again, not so stunning. This has nothing to do with Disney, so we got there in time for the show and for Mickey, Minnie to open the performance along with Donald and Goofy. Aria loves Disney characters and having just turned two she is very aware and kept shouting Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. As you can see below, she was engrossed in the full show.
Cinderella and her sisters took to the stage and enchanted up with their story and full of magic and dreams. Next Princess on stage was The Little Mermaid. There were the classic Under the Sea from Sebastian the crab and many other sing-a-long classics telling the story of Ariel going from Mermaid to human. There were some amazing effects and stunts including Ariel being on a rope. Watching these talents skaters, singing, dancing and performing is breathtaking.
We even got to sit next to one of my favourite bloggers and friends Laura at Yummy Mummy Flabby Tummy and her gorgeous girl. Do check out her post, she got some amazing pictures and her daughter and friend are wearing the most adorable Princess outfits.
One of my favourite Disney Princess film is Tangled. I love Rapunzel the kick-ass princess. The wonderful love story of Rapunzel and Flynn and that wicked woman that stole her, magically comes to life on ice and song. I think one of my favourite characters was Maximus. Tyler kept asking if he was a bady as he had an angry face.
Listening to the songs from Beauty and the Beast brings back lovely memories of watching that film for the first time, she was one one of the newer Disney Princess films and was a great one. The teacup, chip, was adorable and the rose in the jar was magical.
The big moment arrived and Frozen came to life. Anna and Elsa were amazing. The costumes, backdrops, props, stunts and effects made this section magical. I had a lump in my throat as Elsa sang Frozen and snow fell from within the area. You really have to see this to believe it.
Having seen several Disney on Ice shows, this did not fail to disappoint and brought all the magic of Disney to live. The music had everyone singing along and the place erupted when Frozen started. All the little wannabe princesses in the room sung their hearts out, it really was a touching moment. My children loved it, I loved it and even my husband loved it. If you are a Disney fan, you must go see these shows. This is what memories are made of.
