What Matters to You, with John Lewis

Have you seen the John Lewis campaign ‘Matters to You’ Home Insurance advert? If not you can have a look below, it’s a really sweet advert which highlights the emotional side of insuring the things that matter to you. Clever aren’t they? They really do pull at those heart strings.

As part of the campaign, John Lewis have launched a children’s drawing competition. Sweet and fun.
All you have to do is choose your child’s masterpiece on the theme ‘favourite things/what matters most’, photograph it, and write a little bit about what it means to your child, you and how it makes you feel. A lovely activity to do together.

There will be four winners, and each winners artwork will be worked up by professional illustrator Emily Woodard which will then be framed with the original into a piece of art to treasure forever. How amazing is that? You have to look at her art work it’s stunning.

The competition closes on 24th April at 10am – so you better be quick.

My entry would have to be this drawing that Aria did. This is her very first drawing and I will treasure it always. She did it all by herself and it was the first time she’s used crayons and colours. I love the way she held the crayons so gently, then stabbed them across the paper. It’s a great first attempt in my eyes and makes my heart swell with pride.
