Review – Legoland Discovery Centre With Superbreak

Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester

Over the Summer we went to Legoland Discovery Centre, which is in the Trafford Centre, in Manchester. This is a fantastic place to visit, to me it’s better than Legoland which I found a bit outdated last time I was there. It has been a few years, the rides were good, but the Lego village I was a bit disappointed with. The Discovery centre is indoors so you can visit no matter what the weather and have a great time. The Lego on display there is amazing

The Legoland town and city’s is the best bit in my own opinion, not the boys. They made up well and look great, but the most amazing part is that they all light up and the room they are in goes a full 24 hour cycle. When it comes to night there is a fireworks display that appears in the night sky. I was in awe, it looks stunning. I cannot rate this highly enough.

There are 4 different rides to choose from all of which are suitable for little ones, probably 3 or 4 and up. The boys loved the rides and you can go on as many times as you like. Both boys loved driving the Lego cars the best and got their own driving licences.

There is of course a Lego play area and lots of things to make and do throughout the place. We made a sandcastle piece with the building team. Raced cars that the boys build, build a house and wrote our names in Lego. There is also a great new Lego Friends part, where they can sing and dance and play with pink Lego.
The food choice isn’t great, there isn’t anything that my husband can really eat being gluten free and it is rather expensive. I would recommend eating before you go in. This is the only thing I can fault in any way. Don’t get me wrong there is stuff to eat, just not the best choice and price.
The 4D cinema film experience is a must, I don’t want to spoil it, but you have to do it. You may get a little wet, but it’s worth it. The films change every so often.
Lastly we finished off visiting the store. There is a vast range of Lego at it’s standard price. Lego is one of those toys that lasts forever and never dates, so you don’t mind spending a little extra. Who doesn’t love playing with Lego, from the very young with Duplo to the very old. I loved it as a child and still love building with the boys. I’m not sure about Lego Friends, I don’t think there is a need for it, but my nieces love it.
I would highly recommend the Legoland Discovery centre, we will definitely be back as soon as we can. It’s excellent.
