Win a Family Holiday in Al Fresco Holidays’ Young Story Writer of the Year Competition
Calling all young story writers. Al Fresco Holidays are running a national competition, Young Story Writer of the Year. The main prize being a fabulous, family holiday to be won. So get your budding little writers to enter now.
Al Fresco Holidays is a luxury, outdoor holiday provider with locations across Europe. They specialise in providing fun, activity filled holidays for families in France, Spain, Italy, Holland, Croatia and Austria.
After the success of last year’s ‘Young Travel Writer’ competition, Al Fresco Holidays has teamed up with children’s book author, Jeremy Strong. Together they are running another fantastic competition for children to use and practise their writing skills. Reading and writing is key to children’s development, so a competition like this is a fun and interesting way to encourage children to use these skills.
The theme of the competition this year is ‘My Fantastic Journey’. Children can use their imagination to write a story about a fantastic journey. Every day a random entry will be uploaded to the kidz blog on the Al Fresco Holidays website. The top five will be judged for the chance to win a holiday to an Al Fresco parc of their choice and all will receive runners up prizes.
The competition is open from the 3rd of February until the 31st of March. Entries are welcomed from children aged six to twelve. Entries must have no more than 500 words. Jeremy Strong’s has written a short story, which he wrote exclusively for Al Fresco Holidays, you can read it here Joe’s Unusual Journey.
I am going to speak to Lucas about entering this. Not sure he’ll be anywhere near the 500 words but he’s a competitive boy and I’m sure he’d love to enter this. He’s not long turned six, so we’ll see how he goes.
