The MADS – A Fun Night

I travelled down to London by train on Friday morning. It was my birthday and wedding anniversary and hubby game with me as he was going to Euro Gamer (some gaming convention) on the Saturday. I however was travelling down to be The Mad Blog Awards which you can read about and everyone else’s posts.

When I got to the lovely Radissonblu-Edwardian hotel in London, I was greeted by a big hug from Jen, Pippa, Lexy, Karen and Wendy. All bar Wendy I have met before and everyone is super lovely and really good friends to me.

Jen had everyone’s hair and makeup appointments organised, so after unpacking this was my next stop.

Getting my hair done by the lovely Guy from Regis Salons. I am used to it being poker straight so curls were a bit of getting used to. I then got my makeup done by a lovely pregnant lady who used Arbonne products on my skin.
Next on the list was on with the dress which the lovely Tricia Chennell from John Lewis Retail helped me pick out on my personal shopping experience. This is the first time I have ever been to a personal shopper and I hope it’s not my last. I wasn’t sure what to expect but Tricia made me feel at ease and didn’t force any outfits on me. We discussed them and I got to try on lots of lovely dresses. However, we all agreed the one I ended up with was best for my bump and me. It’s not one I would normally have gone for and don’t own anything green, but I love it. I love the shoes and bag I got too, especially the shoes. What do you think?
Me in the hotel room before I left. Thank you Tricia.
The night started off with a drink and then to a sit down meal. I has some lovely people at my table Emma, Merry and Ryan along with some others who were equally as lovely. We even got our picture taken with Mylene Klass.

The lovely Emma was very protective of me and my bump.
I didn’t win and had never expected to, but I was truly honoured to be there. When you see how many blogs were nominated, how many actual nominations there were and down to only 75 finalists. That is wow. Everyone deserved to win and I wish all the winners huge congratulations and a deserving well done.

It got to hang out with some lovely people and got to meet some new super lovely people like Fiona from CoombeMill, who thought I would be a little gothicy and was shocked I didn’t wear all black, the alien that is the Boy and Me, I was expected someone green with antenna’s, but no she’s gorgeous and sweet. Also the lovely Emma from Adventures of an Unfit Mother who was very sweet and Actually Mummy another lovely lady. The lovely Helen my gingerbread partner in crime and Tas, were as lovely as I knew they would be. These are to name a few, there were so many I met and had wanted to meet for a long time.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for a wonderful evening and a nice way to spend my birthday.
Thank you to Sally, Jen, Pippa, Kerry, Lindy, Vic and many others for all the organisation and for arranging such a wonderful night to remember.
Another big thank you to Ryan for the birthday cakes and for hanging out with my on the Saturday in the big smoke. Making sure I didn’t get lost or had a panic attack being left on my own. We had lots of fun in Covent Garden area and lunch in China Town, yummy. Was a fab day.
Disclaimer:- I was given a dress, shoes and bag, but everything else came out of my own pocket. These thoughts are my own.
