Christmas Magic - A Trip to See Father Christmas

We take our boys to see Father Christmas early on in the month of December as we do another Christmassy trip the middle of the month, so we can still build up to Lucas' birthday on Christmas eve.

On Sunday we went to visit Father Christmas in House Of Fraser in Glasgow. First up all ready to go.

Excited about going.

My youngest Tyler has never been on a train, I couldn't believe that but we have never need to go anywhere with him on a train. We must rectify this as both boys loved it. Look at their wee faces.

We stopped in a few shops in Glasgow before heading to Frasers for the main event. It was up on the 4th floor so took a bit of finding, it wasn't sign posted very well but worth the wait. First up was a sleigh ride through the north pole pulled by polar bears. There wasn't enough room on the sleigh so I had to rough it through the snow to Santa's house.

The main event. Santa was great, he was big and chunky the way Santa's should be. He asked my boys what they wanted for their Christmas. Lucas said a digger, to which Santa asked what colour, to my horror. Thankfully he said yellow which is what I have him. Tyler said a digger and a piggy. To which Santa said what type of piggy? A soft toy or one to put your money in? Tyler said one to put your money in. Oh no, panic I have the soft toy one which I know he'll love but Santa has promised a piggy bank, now to get one of those. Thanks Santa!

The boys loved this and the gifts were good to, they both got a Cars bingo game. Lots of fun being had with that.

Next stop lunch in St Enoch's centre where Santa was seen heading to Burger King for his lunch. Yes you heard it here, Santa eats Burger King.

Just up from where we were eating is the children's dream shop which is Hamleys. Now we couldn't sit there are not go in now could we? So up we went. First to greet us was a huge elephant. It was however missing an eye.

It looks cuddly from afar but up close a little creepy.

The boys weren't sure what to make of it.

A quick stop with the fabulous Ben 10.

Before heading home empty handed, yes really I escaped without buying a single toy. Helped along with the free balloons they give away.

The train journey home was an excellent one until one of the balloons popped resulting in a screaming child and a carriage of passengers who almost had a heart attack. He only screamed for two minutes until I gave him another from the house.

This truly was a magical day, one I will remember forever and I hope the boys do to.
